I am shopping for a new ISP, phone, tv provider. I have been a customer of TWC for at least 5 years and payed "automatically" the entire time. I stuck through growing pains in this area when my phone and internet would be out. Now the service has been great as of late so TWC has rewarded me the loyal customer by raising my rate by over 50%, an amount nearly half of my house payment for this small place!
Not only was my rate increased so much, it was done with smirks from the people I spoke with about renewing at a "package" rate. The "enticement" rate for a new subscriber with the same services I have is now less than half of what I am paying.
Not sure of the strategy of this business plan - just tally the churn it produces to see if it works? I just wish there were more choices in this area other than AT&T whom I will be signing up with probably. I know this action by TWC will cause a lot of customer to explore any alternatives.
You aren't alone. Same here in Texas. They have switched to an "A La Carte" menu and jacked up the price of a 14 year customer by 35%. They have a hold on HBO, however we can get it for $17.50 plus all premium channels (retired vidiots!) at a price far lower than the $195 they want to charge.
I'm grateful we have options..'cause this Boomer is outta there! Take Care, J.
I have been a customer for 2 years and can't stand this company. Service sucks, support sucks, my internet access is always spiking and dropping. I use their business service, what a joke. They have supposed "customer advocates"... Nice people but are totally useless. Can never get a manager or supervisor to call me back.
I will never buy this stock. If any management from TWC wants to hear my store (and pretend to give a crap about customer service) then post here with you email and phone number and I'll be happy to give you the scoop.. like that ever going to happen...
