I have been long Coke since 2009, and it has doubled without dividends.
PEP is losing share in its major USA markets and Coke is gaining share vs PEP in the important emerging markets, where organic growth still is available. Nooyi has made bad strategic decisions, made bad hires and failed to closely monitor the executives she placed in the most important areas of the Pepsi business.
This Pepsi CEO is losing by all the important numbers. Its only Wall Street's reaction to her performance that continues to depress the stock price.
Consumer drinks & packaged foods is an extremely tough business with supremely able competitors willing and able to capitalize on any weakness in a firm's execution.
Nooyi has said she wants to enter public service in Washington ???? For those type of statements she should be replaced by someone who will commit ones-self totally to succeeding in this brutal business.
Being number 3 in the USA soda drink market in totally unforgivable !!
Pepsi needs to be split into 2 firms & expert managers should be placed in charge who know each specific segment of the business.
I am long Coke and waiting on Pepsi to make the big moves before I entry PEP
