I haven't seen a price increase in retail soft drinks in over 10 years. This combines with Pepsi's international problems are the reasons the stock is performing so poorly. The company should do more cross advertising with Frito Lay, annd bring back the old Pepsi challenge campaign. The only way they will be able to compete with Coke's dominance is by differentiating their product. It is proven that the beverage is better tasting than Coke, but sales don't reflect this.
anyone have an idea of what percentage of pep ads are in house and what are farmed out. seems they could boost their marketing effort domestically and internationally with xtra ching. good lord they need it.
I not sure what percentage Pepsi spends externallly on Ads. I do remember reading Pepsi pulled out of Japan after investing $20Million to penetrate the market. Maybe they should fire thier marketing people and hire Coke people!
