    • I've been long DKS to one extent or another since the IPO days. The current and prospective PEs resemble levels of the fast expansion days in 2005/2006. I'm more prone to sell calls than buy new shares at current prices. What are other opinions on the board?

I really miss your comments about earnings releases.
Any chance we will get one for the current one.
Also long time holder. I want to be able to say in 15 years
I've been on board since the IPO all the way to the bank!
DKS remind me of my other large holding, Garmin. All the news
flying around how they are going to be hammered and they are
going to zero, but they keep their nose to the wheel and
quietly keep making money and putting it in the bank.
Love the management of both companies and trust them with my money.

      • Under Armour and Nike are two companies that sell a ton thru DKS and they are doing very well. I would like to think that expansion plans are working although I am also one that thinks too big too quickly is not good (see Starbucks, although they have now closed stores and things looking good) - i think DKS is real good shape here and may see $35-$37 before the end of Jan 2011...just a guess of course

      • I believe DKS earnings will exceed estimates this Q and FY so PE will come down. Yesterdays move up on 2x normal volume could be funds getting in before the earnings announcement next week. Or shorts getting out! I'm holding here, and believe $35 is in the cards next twelve months, with little downside risk.
