A buyout of VRA may trump the new CEO search...

If the owners that control VRA with their large share ownership are willing to give the the CEO position, they may be will to sell the company and diversify their holdings. The CEO and founders hold over 50% of the stock.

Why risk a new CEO, when this may be a good time to sell? Getting over that hurdle of letting go of control of the CEO position may start the ball rolling...

    • As a shareholder of Vera Bradley, I hope management does not pursue a sale of the company. I think the equity in this company will be worth much, much more 20 years from now than it is today. I just think a sale would be very short-sighted for a strong brand that is earning over 30% on the net tangible assets in the business. I know shareholders were disappointed with the outlook and earnings for the last few quarters but if you just hold for the long term, I think you will be rewarded greatly.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy
