Rumors of sell out of Vera Bradley...

Talk of founders selling out... Concerns about jobs moving out of Indiana to NY or somewhere east.

Indiana is not the fashion center of the universe and folks for Indiana do not mix well with the East Coast.

Would be an odd mix to say the least!!!

    • Among the good catalyzers:
      1) Acquired by a Big Market Fish (High value and cheap price from a pure P&L and Balance sheet view)
      2) New CEO - They had good results on the last 2 quarters but being too conservative on the earnings call
      3) New Disney line promoted and marketed to a broader base. Coming out this September 21
      Bad catalyzers:
      1) Being digested by the market as we speak (Testing the 20.00 @ 13:58)

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • VRA sells apparel, not clothing, so a NY presence isn't as critical----and btw, they just expanded their facilities in IN.

      • Yes, the new facility is meant to easy peoples fears, but there are not many jobs like Vera in the area.

All the consolidations and management meetings have people nervous. You would think the focus would be on interviews for a new CEO, but no concerns about that...

      • If everyone here is long, as I am, we should hope that the company never sells out unless we are paid a large premium over the share price. I, for one, think Vera Bradley will be able to redeploy its earnings for many years back into its business to grow. It generates a strong return on tangible equity and it hasn't yet really penetrated any international markets. I think over the next 20 years, it will be a compelling growth story.

Don't let a hiccup in annual earnings divert attention from its potential. When climbing up a hill, keep your eyes on the hill and not on the peaks and troughs on the way there.

        Sentiment: Strong Buy
