I've been in this for a long time, added along the way since retiring five years ago (out of VG Total Bond Fund). With the run-up it constitutes what's probably too large an allocation in my IRA. Have considered selling some but love the dividends each month. Alternatives for income are pricey. I've increased my equity allocation way higher than I ever thought I would in retirement.
I,too, have been in this fo sometime. In fact, since around 2006. Bought in at 6.11. Was in hospital 2008 for long time and watched it go down to 3.50. Decided to ride the course. Now have a great return since I have been buying shares at lower cost. So I too am happy with this fund.
Good, not fabulous. Fabulous is buying Ford in August of 2012 at $8.88 and it is now at $14.80. However I did get all my shares of this fund several years ago at $4.12 and $4.92 respectively so I am very happy. However, the dividends have been steadily declining from around $.035 to $.029 each month for a while so despite the fact that I have more and more shares and my balance is higher and higher, the total monthly distribution I have gotten has not budged. If that trend continues it will require me to sell and look for a higher monthly payout with more risk or just live on less. Thus not fabulous merely very good. GLL ( Sentiment Hold but cautious)
