Back to the main, pt dieux

If New Orleans wasn't full of poor african americans then 100s or 1000s of poor african americans would not be dead!
SOOO....why haven't the Democrat do-gooders been able to "rescue" all these poor african americans over the last 70 years? You've had plenty of Democratic presidents that have failed to lift most poor african americans out of their misery.
Your most recent "star" Bill Clinton was busy getting his dick sucked by an impressionable underling, cheating on his wife and daughter while thousands of poor african americans in New Orleans continued to live in ghettos. Why wasn't Bill getting these people educated and employed?
And now you want to blame Bush for the broken levees and weak barrier islands...nice try!

    • mississippi...The NOLA fiasco was caused by broken levees and the neglect leading to that is on the heads of both political parties...however, the failure of DHS to make sure the money it spent on communications equipment across the country went to real improvements in interoperable communications and redundancy in communication networks falls on the doorstep of the current administration...the failure of FEMA resulting from its own neglect in the frenzied fear of terrorism by the DHS is a problem administered by this Presidency...ineptitude falls across the political spectrum on the Katrina response, but the failure of the current administration to recognize that large-scale natural disasters are more likely to happen than large-scale terrorist attacks falls clearly on George W. Bush...if you don't see that you are just stone cold blind...

      • Good to hear your impartial views on Bush and his culpability for the storm, and the thousands of people who "refused" to leave because they have been conditioned over the years to believe that the "gomment" will take care of their every need. The democractic platform, as it were.
You are full of shit as per usual.
By the way, have you seen the photos of the thousands of N. O. school buses UNDERWATER AND ABANDONED? They should have been used to evacuate the last remaining locals, and under local government planning-but were not?
        Welcome to the real world.

      • I think that large-scale terrorist attacks may not be more likely, however our preparedness and ability to prevent them (you can't prevent a natural disaster) needed beefing up... our natural disaster preparedness is and has been adequate.

So long as people follow the plan. Why they didn't bus people out of the city prior to the hurricane hitting is unknown to me... but I do know that there was an official policy communicated to the people from the state & local democratic government that if a disaster struck, the citizens are on their own. This was their disaster preparedness plan?

    • Ancient history. Fast-forward to last week: the Dems in Loosiaaana wouldn't let the Red Cross bring food and water into the city for fear that it would slow down the evacuation. They preferred to "starve the rats out." (Insensitive choice of words, but the only way to do justice to what the State Dept of Homeland (In)Security did to its citizens.)

    • Bush administration in 5 years has spent more money on levees than Clinton admin in 8.

Mary Landreaux--what bill did she eversponsor in Congress to work on levees?

Mayor of New Orleans is spending his time claiming he is "not a drug addict" and watching the "Angel of Death" fly around New Orleans. What about those busses, Mayor?

Governor of New Orleans turned down both Federal help and relief from Red Cross in the early going because she felt she had things in control.

      Evacuation plan not followed.

Looting (black white or otherwise) broke out the day after the storm. . .almost as quickly as the Dems began wailing that the storm was Bush's fault.

Over time there will be evidence, for anyone who cares to listen, that the primary problems were LOCAL LOCAL LOCAL. If the Federal effort was flawed--entirely possible--these flaws were hugely exacerbated by the indescribable buffoonery and downright despicable actions of the Mayor and Governor.

If the Feds came rolling in and just pushed these idiots aside right at the beginning there would have been howls that Bush was acting like a dictator, yada, yada, yada.

But of course Sean Penn, Jesse Jackson, and Geraldo Riveria and the usual democrat political chattering skulls are to be believed without question.

You did read about fema's (in)action until after the storm hit, didn't you? As for the evacuation plan, just what are the details in that plan that provided transportation for the people who didn't have their own, before the hurrican hit, not after the damage was done? That it was their own fault they were too poor to have their own is another issue.

"...these flaws were hugely exacerbated by the indescribable buffoonery and downright despicable actions of the Mayor and Governor."

Were the flaws themselves huge to begin with, and you just brush them aside to lay the blame on those liberal lefties? "If the Federal effort was flawed--entirely possible." Oh, excuse me, i must've missed that. Thus if there were no flaws there were no flaws to hugely exacerbate, and if there were flaws, hell, it was the democrats who made them worse than they were.

"...the primary problems were LOCAL LOCAL LOCAL." Just who was responsible for the current status of the levees, the level 3 capable status i think it was PK who noted?

What i do find hilarious is how you all try to place the blame on the other side, no matter which side you're on, and accept no accountability for your own. Stupid is as stupid does, faw'est.

You know something, that thing i posted, i didn't read past the first paragraph myself. I'm not interested enough to read after the fact things that focus on someone else's inabilities. I know there's plenty enough blame to go around for all. Just wanted to see the reactions here. They were as expected.

    • "why haven't the Democrat do-gooders been able to "rescue" all these poor african americans over the last 70 years? You've had plenty of Democratic presidents that have failed to lift most poor african americans out of their misery."

I wasn't paying attention at the time, but maybe it's because all those right wing no-do-gooders undid the work of the democrat do-gooders. Do-gooders, you have something against doing good, is there supposed to be some stigma about doing good, or at least trying to do good? Apropos for you and your kind to be against doing good i guess. Not until bush came along did i really give a shit who was president. That's how bad your guy is.

At least clinton got his dick sucked for free (at the moment; he and the country paid for it later, much due in part of those do-gooder right wingers who had to root out evil; didn't some of them wind up digging their own sexcapade-derived graves?). Don't you wish you could say the same about the time you were in france? Good try yourself Mississippi. By the way, i trust you didn't get hit by the storm where you were and all's ok with you. Regards
