    So Sad!

Hope and Change, sound familiar? Next thing we'll hear from BIOL is "Yes, we can!"
The story here sounds SO promising. Who WOULDN'T want pain free dentistry and who would ever want to go to a dentist that denies them this miracle?
The problem comes in the history: BIOL has been saying this for 10 years! Every now and then they juice the market with some exciting PR and the prospect of buyouts, partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, etc. New patents to add to the stale portfolio. Can't believe I'm hearing remarks like "Just think if P&G develops the, blah, blah, blah..."
And finally, for now, I love the claim "BIOL the largest dental laser company in the world with 90% of the market". Could that be because there is NO substantial market?

Congrats to the longs on some impressive up side. Buyer Beware.

      • One becomes negative as one watched freddie and his minions burn through $75M make promises that "This time its different every" 18 months or so. You want "credit to biol for any accomplishmments..." but he sad fact is Biolase and Freddie have been a constant disappointment. Yes, after twos Freddie has returned Biolase to the gross sales levels of Schein's WORST year, but still has beaten schein's seocnd year. When you add in something to compensate for discount Biolase sold to Schein for it is REALLY bad.

        Revenue History (Millions):
        Year…Q1…Q2…Q3…Q4..Total
        -----------------------------------
        2004…14…15….12…19…61
        2005…17…15….12…19…62
        2006…17…16….17…19…70
        2007…15…17….12…24…67 [Schein 77]
        2008…19…18…15…12…64 [Schein 74]
        2009…06…14…12…10…43 [Schein 49]
        2010…04…06…06…10…26
        2011….11….12….13….13…49
        2012….12….13*….14….18(e)…57

        *Excludes Schein buyback

One should note the double booking of the units Biolase sold to Shein in 2010, bought back in 2012 for "parts" but then decided to sell in 3Q12 and 4Q12. The bad news for Biolase is those units are gone. Perhaps they'll put out a call to buy back more MDs at $0.25 on the dollar and sell them?

All of that said, the MoMo boys are the true beleivers are out in force these last coupld of days and the stock is running. If I were long I'd enjoy it, but have my thumb hovering over the ejhedct button as I'm sure many are.

        Sentiment: Strong Sell
