The new ads are very, "slick". That's how I would describe them. Plus, they have dropped the catch phrase, "It's not just good, it's Sonic good". I liked that catch phrase and everybody knew it. They need to hire an ad agency that gets back to basics. Here is my suggestion. Mom is driving her mini-van/SUV after picking up the kids from soccer practice. Mom is driving home and it's getting late. The kids are hungry, They turn the corner and they spot a Sonic. All in unison, the kids yell, "Mom stop at Sonic!" The car hop brings the food and Mom looks at the car hop and says... "Thank You". Mom takes a bite of her popcorn chicken and says, "Mmmmmm... thats not just good... the kids, smiling and eating their food from the backseat, yell back, "it's Sonic good"! Laughing and smiling. A nice family oriented spot, dead on for Sonic's target demographic. I would love to handle Sonic's advertising account.
