    sonic buy l recomended

One thing that I considered when I bought Sonic, kSonic is the largest drive-up chain in the nation. All burgers and fast food shops are pretty much the same. Drive-ins offer the alternative. The idea that sonic is buying back it's shares also makes me interested. If the price drops below the thirty level I will load up. Meanwhile, I will just sit on what I have now.

    • Would someone explain why Sonic is no longer interested in leasing site locations, but is now in favor of buying same. Doesn't this tie up too much capital and thus restrict future growth? Poor lease renewal terms don't seem that important since the useful life of the little huts and canopies that Sonic otherwise builds seems fairly short. If any given landlord tries to raise lease rates, what was wrong with simply moving up the street so as to deal with a more reasonable leasee?

Aren't we in the burger business and not the real estate trade?

      • Is everyone on this board sleeping through April? Or have you taken your profits and gone to Hawaii? Hello....

This company has a nice Investor Relations person who would probably be happy to answer/spin this question about real
estate. I'm a resident of Phoenix AZ where a major Sonic push is going on. I noticed it when the stock was trading at 28 and wish
I'd bought immediately. What's most impressive is that Sonics were DUMPS for so long & have made such a big positive change. The
food seems decently in line with burger joints & the carhops are friendly & polite. Here in the Valley the locations Sonic is
building on are very choice pieces of real estate... land parcels in previously undeveloped areas where intense development is
happening. In these situations lease arrangements are not yet available and the property value can be expected to dramatically
        increase. But that's just here....

Oh yeah, the annual report. You gotta love that.
