Just took a trip to our local target with the wife and kids since it is raining and crappy up here and not a lot to do. Asked two sales associates where their Sodastreams were and they both said that they had been told they were sold out. If they did have any they would be in small appliances. Great! I thought to myself as I headed over there. Checked out the display and it was sparce. 3 machines, a lot of flavors missing or only had one to two available. Are they that busy or are they not able to keep up with demand. Not sure. That's the update.
I bought mine today at Target. It was only 3 left after I got mine. I ended up getting the last lemon lime soda flavor. They only had about 3 orange flavors and 2 cola flavor bottles lefts along with a couple of diet flavors. Overall, they needed to stock up on more flavors. This product is being used. I like it so far. I can now drink soda without the high fructose corn syrup.
Remember, you can get ALL the flavors online and never leave the house. UPS just delivers. Beat that KO and PEP!!! KO and PEP are freaking giants. Ain't going nowhere, but I think SODA has a shot at OVER their goal of 5% US penetration<don't even go there:) 10% isn't unimaginable IMO.
Best thing to do is to check back in a week, if they are empty, check the label for a grey dot which indicates it needs to come out of the stock room or it is being ordered. Target has mediocre execution with in-stock processes. Just one of the many reasons the company has failed to meet monthly sales guidance in the last two months. Full disclosure- I am short Target. I love the stores, but they need better operational execution going forward.
I saw a similar scenario at my local sears, the display only had a few machines and barely any mixes. I asked the salesperson what she could tell me about the machine, her exact response "it must be pretty good, we sold a lot over Christmas and people have been coming back to buy the mixes" this was a sears in Windsor, ON Canada.
