I would consider the Pepsi CEO's comments about working with al home soda makers to be equivalent to Soda announcing they were launching in Wal Mart. This is historic. However the stock responded the same way when Wal Mart was announced: Meh......
Both SBUX and Pepsi CEO interviews were questioned with Sodastream. that's not coincident. Pepsi CEO said home soda could become significant in the future. She also said home soda is crafted, fun and having more variety of flavors - Keurig Cold is pod based, not crafted, not fun. Sodastream's product is what she referring, and her comments are validating SS's leader position.
The Wal Mart announcement was historic in that it confirmed home Soda was going mainstream in America, something it did in Europe years ago. Pepsi's comments are equivalent to the Wal Mart announcement in that home soda has now been defined as a market that the majors will not ignore. More confirmation of Soda's business going forward and consumer demand.
More branded syrups available for the Sodastream ecosystem increase the reasons for buying a machine in the first place, setting up a virtual cycle. See? Pretty darn historic.
