SPPR Reports 2008 Second Quarter Results

But what is going to be the next pps driver? I think another small increase in dividend won't do it. In mean time, I guess I will add some...and I earlier thought that 5ish was a pps floor. Guess I can't complain, buy low etc...

Tuesday July 29, 4:00 pm ET

NEW YORK (AP) -- A Goldman Sachs analyst said late Monday that the lodging industry may remain under pressure for up to 17 months before the market improves, pointing to a gloomier outlook for 2009.

      08/05/08 - Robert W. Baird
NEW YORK, August 5 ( - Analysts at Robert W Baird maintain their "neutral" rating on Supertel Hospitality, Inc (SPPR), while reducing their estimates for the company. The target price has been reduced from $6 to $5.

I am thinking gas and energy prices will be the key driver here.
They both are under pressure to the downside for now ;-)

Seen corn or wheat futures lately? Darn bottom about fell out of those. Yum....Pork Bellies!

      • Commodity bulls will tell ya that, its just a pullback, bullmarket still intact...yada yada yada... I think you are right about fuel prices, in short term (6 mos or year perhaps) but at some point people who postponed trips or elected not to take them because of fuel prices are gonna hit the road again (perhaps not as frequently) but when that starts, we will do much better as people save money on lodging buy staying at economy hotels IMO. Still higher utility costs will be a fact of life for the forseeable future...
