France cites "significant risks for the environment"

this is political statment and not a rational scienctific conclusion- somehow eating it is fine but growing it is not and what study is it based on? You can rationalize a herbicide trait as bad since it kills weeds and if you want to grow weedss and not crops then its not good. Of course just growing any crop organic or conventional is 100x worse than not growing it and herbicide tolerance makes more yield but kills weeds. Of course of you produce more of less land and then let the extra land go fallow that would we better than organic. BT crop however has zero negative impact on the environment and actually the opposite it stops spraying with indiscriminate insecticides that are killing beneficial insects like bees. That is why the US, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa and India allow Bt crops. Who ever said the French were smart - after all they are FRENCH you know
