Why Buy Shares in a World-Class Laggard, Monsanto's Archrival??

    THE WEAK IN REVIEW

Good Evening, Bonsoir, Guten Abend, Buenas Noches,

Investors, some of you may not have caught up with the 21st century DuPont. Once the king of chemicals, and largest and leading innovator in chemicals and materials of the last century, the "new" shrunken DuPont has unfortunately become a notorious second-rate also-ran. Consider...

    * In chemicals, DuPont lags a dozen superior-managed and expanding global enterprises, such as BASF, Dow Chemical, ExxonMobil Chemicals.

    * In seeds, DuPont lags embarrassingly behind Monsanto.

    * In ag chemicals, DuPont lags Syngenta.

    * In enzymes and food additives, DuPont lags world leader Novozyme.

Only in the dusty and dirty business of producing the commodity industrial chemical TIO2, is DuPont the global leader.

Even in the developing field of bio-fuels, DuPont lags behind smarter, smaller outfits. The big bosses in Fortress Wilmington have been bragging about their corn cob "gasoline" for the better part of a decade. But to date, we have not seen DuPont make and sell any commercial quantities of bad-mileage ethanol made out of corn stover. With lower gasoline prices, DuPont won't be selling big quantities of Danisco enzymes to bio-refiners any time soon. Recall how DuPont Chieftess Ellen J. Kullman touted the highly speculative and commercially unproven corn cob bio-fuel market as one of the big reasons she bid against herself and overpaid $7 billion for Danisco in 2011.

In summary, Investors, why purchase the long-moribund shares of a proven world-class laggard, DuPont in decline? Instead, look at DuPont's superior-managed competitors.

Merely THE WEAK IN REVIEW digitally penned by one individual investor and long-time student of the shrinking, sinking DuPont Company...funfun..
