By Ryan Flinn - Jan 18, 2013 9:47 AM ET
NuPathe Inc. (PATH), a maker of neurological and psychiatric medicines, won U.S. approval to sell the first skin patch to treat migraines. The shares rose as much 19 percent.
The Food and Drug Administration cleared the treatment, called Zecuity, which delivers sumatriptan, the most-prescribed migraine headache medication, through a mild electrical current, Conshohocken, Pennsylvania-based NuPathe said yesterday in a statement.
NuPathe’s chief executive officer, said in an interview. “We’re right now in conversations with a number of people for partnership in the United States.”"
will get partner very soon.
They have been having "conversations with a number of people for partnerships" ever since P3 trials... there is a reason they still don't have one and it wasn't that "big pharma" was waiting on the sidelines to see if this was going to be approved.
