    • No they have not. First off all Market Makers don't buy long stock..... They are hired by an exchange and paid a hefty premium to create liquidity in the option place.... They only buy and sell option contracts / spreads and very rarely dable in the underlying commodity. I'm so tired of hearing people say MM are moving the stock etc.

MM usually create a jelly roll or a Box spread for themselves to eliminate all risk when providing liquidity and make most of there earnings from the money the exchange pays them... Now with that being said

I have told you guys all along the past two weeks have been a (Cleaning house) The current institutions that hold this stock have been buying up every single weak hand... Thus ensuring that when there is an announcement and the stock pops the only retail investors who are holding will be holding long as they truly believe in this stock. This will ensure there is not a selling frenzy driving down the price of Path upon great news. Instead, new buyers will jump in and the Institutions will be able to unload all of there shares without a significant drop in the price.

Also, since they have cleaned deck after the news of a partnership or buyout or whatever it will be they can set the price to whatever they want, when new buyers come in they will be the ones to sell to them... They won't have to worry about retailers unloading and affecting the price.

This is not just occuring because of the upcoming news, it's also occuring because of technicals. We have a 3 year flag forming from a baseline of $8.00+ It is about to pop this month sending the stock into the stratusphere. This will happen wether there is news or not.... Investors with computer systems that spot technical trading will start buying after the pop and these institutions can unload and make a killing while holding some of there shares long into the new year.

This is what is happening period....

You guys talking about MM's and this and that are #$%$...

      • MM's don't buy or short stock that BS, here one story from many years ago about 1990. The broker I was using at the time had a client who was doctor at Morristown Hospital who had a patient that was in a serious car accident. The patient's father just happened to work on the nyse as a MM in GM stock, he was so thankful that the doctor saved his son's life he told him he wanted to show his gratitude and told the doctor in three weeks GM stock will be down 15% on a certain day at a certain time to buy what ever amount of stock he wanted and that stock would be up 15% in three days. It was like this guy had a crystal ball. everything this guy said came to pass just like clockwork. Another story, also from the nyse this involved AMZN {this one around 1999} even thou AMZN traded on the naz a runner over heard that a bear raid was going to start at 1pm on AMZN he passed this on to the broker who had called to confirm another trade. We watched the tape with and sure enough come 1pm it was like the rug was pulled out the stock closed that day down 7bucks So don't tell me they don't go long or short the common.

      • Interesting. Question when this POPs what price do you see before the big boys sell out and down? I want to atleast unload some shares there. I might put an open order in but am not sure what price is appropriate. Any thoughts? I have a fewe ideas but always good to get others opinions. Thanks

I don't buy that scenario! It didn't work that way with ALXA when they announced a very similar type partnership for their first approved product - Adasuve - with TEVA. The stock popped briefly from about $4 to about $6.50 and was back to the 4s within 2 days. Why didn't the MMs use your strategy for that?

        Sentiment: Strong Buy
