    question

Does anyone have a clue regarding what's happening here? LOTR is doing very well in the theaters as we expected it would. Do you really think this lack of positive action is nothing more than the company's failure to promote the stock? If that's the case it's a sad state of affairs. Maybe someone else can shed some light on this and offer an explanation I don't know about.

    Thoughts?

I think the lack of positive action with this stock is primariuly due to the fact that most people view it as a "trading stock." When Harry Potter came out, it shot up, then fell back. When LOTR came out, it shot up, then fell back. There has yet to be any reason for people to think otherwise about this stock. But, I think when the earnings are released people will start to consider this stock a little (emphasis on little) more as a long term hold. Grand has made a very powerful ally in Toy Biz (provided they maintain it), and should see some great profits from it. This stock will almost always move similar to a "trading stock," (watch for Spiderman in May) but it should set a higher and higher base as earnings improve and people start to hold it for the long term (provided they maintain their relationship with Toy Biz, and Marvel continues to have movies made based on their characters).

As far as the lack of PR, this could be the result of the Pokemon fiasco from a while back. I'm alittle sketchy on the details, but I'm sure there are others on this board who know everything about it.

      • The stock is till up over 150% from 6 weeks ago based on LOTR ...

The price is drifting lower on the "buy on mystery, sell on history" syndrom ... it always happens on an "event driven" stock like GRIN ...

Earnings will probably come out in April, just in time for the Spiderman buzz ... until then, I suspect the price will drift lower for the next few months ...
