"No growth for Pringles in US."

While a huge consumer of food products, the US is not the only consumer on the earth. Pringles do well abroad--don't be so myoptic!

    • where? - in Europe where P&G was already mature and where PL snacks are at close to 50% of category. I actually would think China. Does Diamond have a presence in China? BTW - Pringles has probably been shipped overseas for years in the form of diverting etc. The Brand is mature in most places.

    • Latin American & Asia.

Pretty astounding to me that pre Pringles, DMND had $680 million in revs while Pringles brings in about $1.4 Billion.

"Pringles’ global clout is one of the most important aspects of the deal. The brand is sold in more than 140 countries. Procter & Gamble says Pringles accounts for about 10 percent of the global potato chip market. Pringles’ solid annual sales and continued growth are tied to its strong international presence. The global snack food industry generates about $280 billion in annual revenue, which is expected to grow to about $330 billion by 2015, according to Global Industry Analysts (GIA). The US market totals about $28 billion, according to our First Research industry profile.

Pringles will double Diamond Foods’ snack sales in the US and the UK. The acquisition will also help Diamond Foods expand in areas such as Latin America and Asia, which are strong drivers of international growth. Asia-Pacific, which is the least developed and fastest growing among emerging snack food markets, is expected to increase 6 percent annually through 2015, according to GIA."
