Diamond Foods, Inc. (DMND) Message Board

  • ran.dog80 ran.dog80 Dec 30, 2011 11:29 AM Flag

Out of 11 analysts covering Diamond Foods only 1

analysts cut his "buy" rating to "hold"! The other 10 did nothing. Why not a "sell" because most know this is simply going to be resolved. I like the dialog between P&G spokesperson and interviewer:

The investigation will most likely keep Diamond's stock depressed with an unclear end date for the SEC activity and the probability of the Pringles acquisition closing is now even less certain, Wrede, who cut the stock from "buy to "hold," said.

When contacted by Reuters, a P&G spokeswoman said: "Our commitment to the transaction is predicated on the favorable resolution of all these current investigations."

Who in their right mind is telling themselves this company, a huge conglomorant, based right here in the US of A is stupid enough to risk all for a 50,000,000.00 payment to growers and hide it from their accountant to sweeten their books! P&G needs this as bad as Diamond wants this and all will be water under the bridge after the new year.
