Blade Dynamics opening in Saudi Arabia

AMSC owns 25%, I believe, so recent story that they are opening an assembly plant to
assemble blades in Saudi Arabia is interesting. G**gle news search Blade Dynamics to find story.

    • I'd like to hear an explanation as to why Blade Dynamics would assemble gigantic blades in the middle of the middle east. It doesn't appear to make sense unless the Saudis are offering subsidies in order to expand their economic base. And even then how far away are areas of the world that need wind turbines?

      • The region (from there west through the Saraha) is prime for wind power. The Saudi's will be subsiding developement within their kingdom so they do not have to burn oil to light their homes. But they do want local content, so a plant there does make sense.

A very "green" concept, they would rather sell the oild for greenbacks.
