I absolutely get your point. And one of the most arrogant Americas cup skippers I can think of that would try to protest, and remove you from the competition in a heartbeat was Ted Turner, a liberal elitist. That guy was an "A" type with a capital "A". Don't know if you ever remember the Buckan family? The dad, and both boys were sailboat racing enthusiists I knew both boys, and subcontracted for both of them. They were very successful builders in the hayday of Seattle area expansion. Bill raced in the America's Cup, I believe it was, several decades ago, and held in California. The GOP had better learn to be "A" types, and get in liberal politico's faces, and journalists as well.
And forgot to further name drop, and tell you I got to crew on John Bcuckan's sailboat in Elliot Bay in Seattle. John was one of the Buckan Boys. I didn't know what I was doing, but got to sail/race on his boat.
Interesting you know so much about sailboat racing and where it is today. I once read that there were more participants in sailboat racing in the world than any other competitive sport. Judging from the election results around the planet I think the claim was true.
