LVS is a very unique property. They have the Sands Convention Center. The attendees of trade shows, conventions, meetings will fill the hotel. The problem is that some dates are being cancelled, fewer people attending and those who do attend, spend less money.
LVS needs a cash cow in a hurry, Sheldon Adelson has made it pretty clear that he is not putting anymore $$$ into LVS. This, in my opinion is the biggest sign that bk. will happen sooner then later. My best estimate, without heavy $$$ comming in, bk will happen sometime during the slow summer season.
As for WYNN. This guy is bleeding dollars. They have debt comming due and there is no turnaround on the horizon. However SW has a tremendous amount of shares and cash. The big question is will he use it.
These properties will survive, shareholders are probably doomed. New Phoenix' will rise from the ashes, not anytime soon but it will happen.
you sound like smart guy!!! i also have house in Las Vegas and my hometown Chicago!! i spend every other weekend in LV and yes it got slower but do you thing that owner of LVS is going to give this up just like that. i lived in Vegas in 2001 September. that was bad! very bad but Vegas survived.
