PokerStars opens room at City of Dreams
PokerStars announced yesterday that it will launch a branded live poker room at Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd’s City of Dreams.

According to a statement from the company, this will be the largest dedicated poker room in Macau, with 13 permanent tables, “to meet the growing interest and demand in poker in Asia”.

It will also host all PokerStars’ tournaments in Macau, including the Asia Championship of Poker, the Macau Poker Cup series, the Macau Millions and the Asia-Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Macau poker festival.

Up until March last year, PokerStars had a live branded poker room at SJM Holdings Ltd’s Grand Lisboa, but the contract was not renewed.

The company has been looking for a new residency since, in the meantime hosting its special events at Grand Waldo casino, Danny McDonagh, PokerStars director of live operations for Asia-Pacific, told Macau Business newsletter.

Further details regarding the official opening day of the City of Dreams poker room are to be announced soon, the company said.

City of Dreams previously had a poker room, but it was shut down in 2011.
