More ferry runs to Cotai planned

The construction of Taipa’s permanent ferry terminal is on track to be finalised by mid-year, the head of the Maritime Administration, Susana Wong Soi Man said yesterday.

“It should be concluded by the middle of the year. This is still our goal. That’s our timetable,” she said.

However, there is no date yet for the new terminal’s opening.

After its construction, it is expected that the Maritime Administration will need some months to run trials.
The terminal was first intended to be up and running by 2007.

A temporary ferry terminal, located just beside the final Taipa ferry terminal’s construction site, has serviced Taipa since 2007.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • I guess the question is whether the new terminal will have more daily departures/arrivals and get more tourists and day trippers to the Strip than the current temp terminal does. Will it add additional GGR and Tourism dollars to Sheldon's Golden Pockets.......

The more access to the island the better. In addition more passport/visa processing terminals will allow easier access onto the island and eliminate the issues recently experienced during CNY for those persons also looking to leave Macau.
