Galaxy: Lui confident Galaxy will get enough tables: Table Limits are in effect

LVS is so far ahead of the other Cotai Casinos cos. with 1.500 Gaming Tables, 9,250 Hotel rooma and 4 Casinos while all the other Cotai operators have 1 Casino and maybe one of the Casino cos. has 2,500 Hotel Rooms, The Boss is in the lead! For the next 3 years, it's all LVS on Cotai.

Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd deputy chairman Francis Lui Yiu Tung says he is confident the gaming operator will get enough live gaming tables for the upcoming phases of its Galaxy Macau casino resort, in Cotai.

“We have confidence that we will have a fair amount of tables for us to be able to justify our investments,” Mr Lui told Macau Business in an exclusive interview published in our March issue.

According to figures previously released, Galaxy Macau’s phase two will have around 500 live gaming tables, phase three around 600 and phase four another 400.

The government has said that, under the 3-percent average annual growth cap enacted this year, only around 2,000 additional tables will be made available until 2023.

“We said it is the capacity we are able to host. We didn’t say we are going to have all those tables. It very much depends on the government,” Mr Lui noted.

He added that currently no gaming operator in Macau is really short of tables, but stressed the tables could be more evenly distributed among the six concessionaries.

Mr Lui said he has “confidence that the government will continue to do positive things to make the industry healthier and more sustainable.

“If not, I would not spend HK$50 billion [US$6.4 billion] in Macau,” he said, in a reference to the tentative aggregate budget for Galaxy Macau’s phases three and four.

    • They always overstate expectations in Macau. Lui is suggesting that he can accomodate 75% of the tables that will be licensed by 2023...

MGM, Wynn, SJM and Sand's Parisian are all planning to collectively accomodate 170% of them.

Wasn't Sands going to be selling 4 seasons condos back in 2010?

    • My guess is that they will get tables based on what they were promised by the government because Macau has shown some flexibility on the numbers and are currently a bit over the stated target cap.
