Global Partners LP Message Board

  • Does anyone have any insight as to the problems at GLP that are driving the share price down to such low levels? Are insiders bailing out?

    • No insight from me and no insider selling. In fact, the GP has been buying a small number of GLP units, but that is for the purpose of giving them to employees under the long-term incentive plan, so there's no real reason to follow the GP.

GLP operations have been tanking all year, with a loss in Q2 and projected loss for Q3 as well. High energy prices have hurt demand, so GLP's increased reveneues simply don't get to the bottom line. With prices dropping recently, I'm almost inclined to start buying a little. The lower prices have to help, but probably not in Q3.

The gas station buy last year still hasn't worked out, and I don't think that's a business I want any part of.

And with the really tiny float (even after the offerings in the last 2 years) means that any selling really tanks the stock.
