I ate lunch at our local Wendy's today, and ordered the "double stack", which, until the last day or two, was 99 cents. It rang up as $1.29 today. I asked the teller if the price had changed, and he sheepishly said "yes, it is now $1.29". My response was "good news!". He is clearly not used to that response. When I explained that I am a stock holder of WEN, he immediately understood my response. This was a company owned store - not a franchise. So the good news is that WEN is doing what it takes to keep up with increasing food costs.
I noticed that here in California too. When I ordered their hamburger, it is listed as coming with cheese. I asked not to include the cheese thinking too that it might be less. With or without cheese, it is the same price.
