I was thinking of purchasing WEN 3 mos. ago at 5.00. But I didn't because the stock has been going up/down the last 5 yrs. To think one sandwich and maybe their salads(which I eat) can make such a difference.
It's got to be the sandwich because they had the salad last yr. and tne stock did nothing.
it's not just the "sandwich"...more that management is revamping the entire business model (including refinancing a large slice of oppressive debt). And it is all paying off. None of this means Wall Street will suddenly fall in love with the company, however...but we live in hope!
It all sounds good but I think this uptick will fade quickly. The restaurant space is due for a big pullback. Most all the companies are showing poor results and taking hits. We will see this stock in the 6's again soon. Does not mean the food is not good.
Agree! Reducing debt, buying back stock, reducing overhead via FRANCHISING out.......new look, new products, and WEN is clearly making a turn for all concerned!
This reduction of debt/operational overhead/ # of shares also makes WEN more than a driveby for would be buyers IMHO.
Steadily increased earnings bodes very well for the future again, for all concerned in the WEN's patch IMHO ! YUM, CKE, a foreign interest wanting to grab a burger foothold in the US and then pursue an aggressive expansion outside the US.....who knows but one thing is sure.....WEN is becoming a more profitable and therefore, SHOP-ABLE entity!
But hey, who knows!? Again, all IMHO !
