    AMCOL International "buy," target price raised

    NEW YORK, July 25 (newratings.com) - Analysts at Davenport & Company maintain their "buy" rating on AMCOL International Corp (ACO.NYS), while raising their estimates for the company. The 12-month target price has been raised from $32 to $34.

    In a research note published this morning, the analysts mention that the company has posted its 2Q07 EPS from continuing operations ahead of the estimates and the consensus. Although the weak domestic metalcasting business exerted pressure on the performance of the Minerals segment, the results across the other segments were ahead of the estimates, the analysts say. The analysts express their optimism regarding AMCOL International´┐Żs outlook going forward. The EPS estimates for FY07 and FY08 have been raised from $1.71 to $1.78 and from $2.00 to $2.06, respectively.

    NEW YORK, July 23 (newratings.com) - Analysts at Wedbush Morgan reiterate their "buy" rating on AMCOL International (ACO.NYS). The 12-month target price is set to $33.

    In a research note published this morning, the analysts mention that the company has posted robust 2Q results, with revenues ahead and EPS from continuing operations marginally short of the estimates. The earnings shortfall was caused by continued weakness in the domestic metalcasting business, the analysts say.
