Spot prices of coal have plateaued. I am thinking that ARLP in the area of $38 to $40 is fairly valued. I am not optimistic for much capital gains beyond $40.
It looks like ARLP has come down to be a quality pick. With debt small, and cash abundant, this looks like a quality stock to hold for awhile.
I've been in ARLP for many many years, and if/when it goes to 200 day or below will add. (also in drip). Cap Trade vote Friday may have some bearing but mostly run up and taking a breather. MHO Best Sherry
well, from where it closed today - 6/11, $40 a share would be a 3.5% gain. plus the 7.5% div. would be an annualized 11% return.I'll take that. I'm not seeing a lot of risk in energy right now.
I agree, don't see much of an upside for a while. However, it did increase its dividend 60% over the last 2 years. I'd be a happy camper if it just increased its divy by one half that amount.
