I don't think you'll regret it. The stock is up 10% since Tuesday when we started to see Irene become a real threat. In market cap terms it has essentially added $75mln to the market. They will definitely sell a few extra generators as a result of Irene but not enough to justify $75mln worth...IMO. Good luck!
Go back fourteen posts and see what I wrote three months ago. Anyone thinking ahead on things like this will make money. Analysts don't think ahead. They look at charts and volume. Now think ahead on another one. This time consider that the Fed is going to push for the release of funds for road and bridge rehab nationally. The unions will like that and Obama likes the unions. Buy steel manufacturers like NUE that pays a really nice dividend as a hedge against anything super bad happening to the markets in the immediate future. We need jobs and union steel and construction jobs will boost employment going into the election year. If you don't care about dividends then buy Ford, low p/e and just waiting for an economy upturn to make a bundle. After Ford then look--sorry, too long a post.
I've got a GTC order to get back in at $15.03 but I think it has run too much in the last day or so. I guess it comes down to whether or not you think of it as an investment or a trade...as a trade I think it is headed lower in the short term. As an investment at these levels I think one would be OK buying here but I just think there are better entry points ahead in the near/immediate term so why force it after it has had a run. Let it come in a little then buy. Just my thoughts...
BGG has fallen 25% in the past 60 days. Did you hear the report about the HDs along the east coast putting generators near the front of the store so they're easier to move out? IF Irene is powerful, there will be power outages for a long time. AND, the entire market is rallying today, not just BGG. IF there is a rebound, BGG will follow on its own, regardless of hurricane news. Read the post regarding seasonal performance of BGG...I bought more on the dip today!
