Maybe, but if I were to put money on it, I would bet that IBM would make a play for Hat before Oracle does. Oracle already has open source assets, although they use them mainly to support all platforms for Java, even open source. I would hope RHT stays independent as long as possible and sells for a premium when and if acquired.

The 400 institutions employ their own analyst, and invest BILLIONS of dollars, but I'm sure they will be shaken to their core.
