They beat on EPS missed on revenue by almost a half a billion dollars. The CEO was on CNBC a few minutes ago and one of the first words out of his mouth was " don't pay attention to the revenue" and he started to explain it away. I assume he knew the revenue was a decent miss. This encapsulates my problem with the market is that very little matters when it comes to earnings now. Some stocks get hit initially then within a week or two most of their share prices bounce back. To me this is all about the FED period! Even the jokers on CNBC are finally talking about revenue misses left and right and that maybe the FED is inflating everything. DAH!
Ellen Kullman, DuPont Chieftess, bragged deceptively to the media that her mediocre Q1 2013 results meant her "strategies for growth were...working". Yet, DuPont revenues tumbled, DOWN a huge 7% year over year.
In the deluded world of Fortress Wilmington, SHRINKAGE = GROWTH.
