I was curious to test the mathematical valuation models of Vector Vest.
I had them test both LNCO and LINE which you would expect they would value about the same.
Vector Vest valued LNCO at $21.21 at $36.99 price- concluding overvalued and
LINE at $16.74 at $36.41 price- concluding overvalued.
Conclusion: Their mathematical valuation models that may escape human review do not value some types of companies reliably.
I have used Vector Vest and think it does an excellent job of telling you what just happened. But you don't make money knowing what just happened, you make money by knowing whats going to happen. Also I noticed that Vector Vest had trouble handling certain types of securities, MLP's, trusts, etc. These don't fit into the standard accounting textbook.
