    The trend continues

Fox News is continuing to show weakness in its primetime schedule in the wake of President Obama’s reelection. In the eight days since election day MSNBC’s average audience for the key 25-54 year old demographic drew about 8% more viewers than Fox. [Source: TVNewser, weekday Nielsen ratings from 11/7-11/16]

Particularly impressive were the results of the two powerhouse programs on the MSNBC lineup: Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell. Maddow won seven of the eight days against her Fox competition, Sean Hannity. For the 8-day run Maddow beat Hannity by 18% and her 544k average was second to only Bill O’Reilly in all of cable news. O’Donnell won all eight days against Fox’s Greta Van Susteren. His margin of victory over Van Susteren was 17% for the eight days.

    • MSNBC is garbage, just like Faux News. If you want news, listen to NPR, and tune both of them off.

    • so 18 people watched the Maddow show and 17 folks watched the Odonnell show,, thats about right but you can't get any farther left,,

      Sentiment: Hold

    • Wow, that's pretty good. Ed Shultz is also a powerhouse of passion and facts the right wing usuallly target. He called Laura Ingraham a ratings HO and was called out for it and had to apologize, meanwhile her crowd calls our president a terrorist and no one has to apologize? Yeah, OK. David Letterman had to apologize to that idiot Palin for a JOKE about her unwed daughter who had a child and then was strangely teaching "abstinance". Palin, an obvious racist, an idiot, a liar and a quitter never apologized for putting gun sites on Gabby Giffords and then getting her shot in the head. I sure hop the Democrats have learned now that they no longer have to apologize to these fools.

      • You are a repugnant fool NJ for any suggestion that those ads had anything to do with Giffords being shot. It's common language in politics to say that you are targeting an opponent. Obama had his infamous phrase about bringing a gun to a knife fight.

As I recall the target wasn't on Giffords face but was on a map of her congressional district and there were multiple ones in AZ and elsewhere in the country. Likewise, the shooter was not a conservative and was generally considered to be more liberal.

      • can she be a racist when she shacked up with a black basketball player and afterwards said it was the most revolting thing she had ever i think she was married at the time...nod nod wink wink
