Mike Huckabee told Fox News that today's deadly massacre in an elementary school in Connecticut was due to the lack religion in public schools.

    LOL.

    • The results of a sex negative culture. A culture highjacked by religion, the greatest curse ever to afflict mankind.

    • They have closed the mental institutions and handed the patients a a bottle of pills. This started in the 60's trying to save tax money. There are some very dangerous people walking around.

    • Yeah, LOL on your judgment day. It's coming.

    • All I know is that children were alot more behaved and teachers could actually teach years ago, when God was in the schools and the principal could beat your a*s*s when you were out of line,, that is all lost now in public schools and as a result, these kids can get by with just about anything and there is little control anymore,,

      • With all the pain from abuse, it is (for those aware) no wonder why the US students have so much difficulty learning in the classroom, and we are becoming(already in many areas) a third rate country!

      • Doc, thats a crazy response from you, blaming the childern is insane, for God sake these were kids under ten years old that were killed by a mentally ill person. Next time think before you post, and hopefully the families those innocent childern killed never see your post.
I think Elk said it all, in his reponse to your totally insenstive post.

      • I agree that forty or fifty years ago the culture in the U.S. was much more civilized and the sense of right and wrong seemed much clearer than it does today. And I would suggest that if you go back even further folks were much more concerned with good behavior. Just read the letters written by Civil War solders to their family's and loved ones. They exhibit a moral character that almost seems foreign to us today. I don't know what we will learn about the poor wretched young boy that did the horrific acts yesterday. But I hope we don't get told he was an average boy that no one would suspect of doing such acts, because that would certainly argue that our society needs a drastic change in course and for that to happen will mean the left in this country would have to change.

Well, craig, now I am, I will admit, somewhat confused. Is it the children's fault here? Are you saying the murders of the 1st graders are the fault of the 1st graders themselves because they must have been out of control or is it the fault of our generation because we no longer let the principals beat the sheit out of the 1st graders (or other graders) to keep them under control?

If the latter, are you saying from 1st grade on we should be doing a lot more beating the sheit out of these little kids? Or are you and Huckabee giving us another broad stroke Katrina style "God's revenge for sin" explanation for the Newtown massacre? And does that mean both of you are equating the supposed misbehavior of 1st through 5th graders with the Mardi Gras type homosexual, etc., behavior?

And if the fault does, in fact, lie with the adults, i.e. more with the parents and grandparents generation of these 1st graders than with them, then why did so many of these 1st graders die in this moment of retribution presumably imposed by God for bad behavior of some kind?

It also would seem to make it harder to blame bad behavior in schools for this act since the murderer was 20 y.o. and out of school a good period of time already.

      • Right on Craig. I expect to see a renewed attack on the 2nd amendment, I remember when gun ownership was common 50 years or so ago but incidents like this were rare indeed. I think the answer is out there but the naysayers would never hear of it. What a crying shame for all and especially the parents of the little innocent children...........heartbreaking.
