as usual...clueless as to who is actually running the country and the world for that matter....doesn't make a dime worth of difference whether a GOP or Democrat is in office or who controls the house or senate....you losers are living in the Matrix they want you to live in....wake up...and start thinking for yourselves rather than blabbering all this rhetoric they want you to......idiots! :D
Theres, you're so backward and out of touch, the people doing the scamming vote repub. West Viginia, Doc's beloved state, where much of this fraud took place is a red state, and like Doc the majority voted for Mitt in the last election. #$%$ ignorance, bigotry, and racism, along with drinking too much moonshine caused them to do it. Also poverty due to the lack of jobs contributes a lot toward their fraudulent behavior.
You and any one who bumps you are just plain naive. In the past couple of years the number of people on SS Disability is up 45% that's around 5m new claimants bringing the total to around 12m. Given that the entire population of WV is under 2m something else must be going on. Fraud is fraud and I don't care who does it - but I laugh at you people who think everyone is political and try and put a R or D label on every event. Most people DONT vote and couldn't care less about stupid political arguments. The point is the programs are available and they are generally promoted by the left. Again I'm fine with a legitimate safety net.
Therse, how conventiently of you not mention that GW"s daddy signed into law the Disabilities Act:
"When George Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) on July 26, 1990, he did so with a great sense of enthusiasm and ceremony. The President viewed the legislation as a humanitarian gesture that would nonetheless pay substantial political dividends. In this regard, the legislation fit a long historical pattern. As with other forms of social welfare legislation, however, the President and his party failed to collect the political dividends."
last time I checked you are part of the same society.....and no, don't know anyone that would agree with this scam (I guess other than the scammers, that is). Lots of stuff needs to be fixed and streamlined, what is lost is that there are legitimate people that need it, but the ones that takes advantage tarnishes all. Believe me, I'm tired of paying for hand outs, but hand outs go to firms, sectors and people, it all needs to be corrected.
Flop, you might be surprised that conservatives totally agree with these social safety nets. What we disagree with is how these government programs, no matter how well intentioned, morph into these behemoths that are abused and for many create a culture of dependency - that is the Libroid society.
As for being tired with the handouts, that sounds fine, but the fact is that Congress fights any efforts at reform and demonizes any efforts to do so.
"The program provides strong incentives to remain out of the labor force permanently," noted MIT economist David Autor in a paper on disability.
That's backed up by a 2009 survey the Social Security administration conducted of 2,300 people on disability, which the Washington Examiner unearthed and analyzed this week.
The survey found that 71% of those on disability had no plans to go back to work, and just 23% said they saw themselves working in the next five years. Only 4% reported looking for work in the four weeks prior to the survey.
And only about a third said they'd received any medical services to improve their ability to work"
beach, The point I got from the 60 Minutes show, was not that the program was bad but scammer Lawyers are the main enablers of the cheats and lack of oversight by Congress. If you want to be a good Republican you should listen more to, Senator, Tom Coburn, who was on the show. Coburn was not criticizing the program. His goal was to have the cheats prosecuted. Coburn is one of the few Republicans with common sense.
More times than not are there narcotics involved with disability claims,, not only do they want the free load but want the drugs as well,, and their PCP won't give the drugs to them so what do they do?, go to the ER,, which of course is a waste of time in my ER as they don't get nothing and mostly get humiliated, mostly by the nurses that don't take shiet off anyone,,
Disability is out of control. Good job opportunity though...investigating disability claims.
Oh beach, I know you wanted a libroid so I thought I would stop bye & say hi.
Ohio State got lucky by the way...smarter team lost to bif flusy school.
