It often seems as if it would be easier to lift small items than to pay for them. Lines at BIG are often long meaning it's likely nobody would be available to witness a small theft much less apprehend someone. Bad for shoppers but great for shoplifters. I wonder what the shrink rate is like at BIG stores?
No, long lines mean inept cashiers. They scan one item, bag, repeat. BIG has a lot of cashiers who think they're saving a ton of time by using the quantity key for two or three items. Try hiring a few with some brains and then give them some real training.
