I went back and listened to the guidance part of the CC for Q4 earnings. They guided 2013 EPS of $2.40-$2.70 and said that 40-45% would come in the 1st half with 75-80% of the first half EPS coming in Q2. So that puts Q1 range of 0.19-0.30 and Q2 range of 0.72-0.97. If you use the mid-point of guidance for the year ($2.55) and the midpoint of 1st half portion (42.5%) and midpoint of Q1 portion (22.5%) then Q1 should be approximately 0.24 according to their guidance. Analysts are expecting 0.28 in Q1.
I forget the specifics of the CC, but I remember it being something like .20, .85, .75, .75 for q1-q4 based on midpoint of guidance. That's the only thing that worries me about this earnings. The doubters will say, "only .20 (or .30), they won't earn $2.55 this year. But q1 in 2012 was pretty puny too. If it gets knocked down, I will grab all that I can. I think more likely they will say 2013 guidance is intact and 2015 goal remains intact and we will slowly climb back to mid to upper 30's going into q2 release. Just my humble opinion.
ya I just decided to put it up there since I remember they said Q1 was not going to be great. lol the only good quarters for terex was 2Q and 3Q of last year. BUt I think Q1 will be the last quarter of somewhat depressed earning . The ramp up in company profitability basically starts now.
