THE QUESTION IS WRONG:
Premise that in JULY the information was anything other than a rumor is absolutely FALSE.
And, apart from the suprises, AAPL continues to outperform expectations, quarter after quarter, in it's core business, as well as in iPods... with huge stimuli to further push the high end, vs. the consumer end machines just now coming to fruition....which means higher margin sales in the next couple quarters satisfying pent up PRO demand... dual quad core Xeon pro machines timed about when Adobe's CS3 with Intel Native Code for OS X is due.
The list of reasons is longer, but I do try to resist feeding the trolls.
Don't believe the hype - do your own research...
your not such a smart boy but ill try writing so your feeble mind can catch it
earnings per share growth in most recent quarter is over 75% while the industry is way less than 50%
earnings per share growth for trailing 12 months is almost 50% while the industry is 8%
revenue growth in most recent quarter is almost 25% while industry is 11%
revenue growth in trailing 12 months is 27% whil industry is 19%
now we have the eye candy...ipod, iphone, apple TV, apple/google computer.
I think your original question was you asking for help. Im making money in apple, lots of it. Short cannot realize my gains. its a break even proposition.
let's see: great brand name, customer loyalty, great design, increasing new products, improving alliance with Google, and the has become 'the' identity for MP3's and for music downloads. Also there is the small problem of stagnation and indicision by Microsoft and the huge cash hoard by Apple. Gosh, I can only think of a few reasons to like this stock and company.
i'll start by answering then i'll ask you a question.
millions upon millions of ipods (more than ever).
millions upon millions of macs (more than ever).
millions upon millions of downloads (music, movies, games, books, etc)(more than ever)
movie studios signing up with itunes.
imminent realization of new os.
imminent realization of appletv.
imminent realization of iphone.
extremely likely release of wide-pod.
now let me ask you: in jan 2006 aapl was in the 80's. that was BEFORE all the stuff i mentioned plus the stuff that you mentioned. don't you think aapl should be higher than that now?
Umm because of the way they have been growing. Because of the huge impact that the Ipod has made, when analysts didn't really believe it would be that big. Because the Iphone is now nearing release meaning a catalyst to their earnings (especially considering the margins on the Iphone are HUGE).
Oh and the fact that AAPL's market share has jumped from 3.XX to 5. something, or was it 6.XX.
Sounds like a terrible company to me.
