Look, here's reality. Even Republicans in Washington know a Palin Presidential run would be disasterous for the party. Of course, they won't admit as much publically but they're not stupid.
She's a great side kick because she draws and energizes a crowd. But she's become too much of a punchline to do anything serious beyond the state of Alaska.
If she does decide to run in the primaries that would be fantastic. The degree to which that would divide the Republicans would make the Obama vs. Clinton drama look like an episode of Leave it to Beaver. Watch for Limbaugh to be the wind in her sails as he throws her Republican competition under the bus.
Unfortunately, "here's reality" doesn't cut it with the wingnuts. All they know is the slop that's fed to them by Faux News, and all they want to do is go back to the trough for more.
These are people who believe in the "Flintstones" version of natural history. They don't think, they believe whatever they're told by whoever puts on the magic cloak of "authority". Preachers, no matter how whacked-out they are, radio blowhards, and Faux News' TV nutjobs combine to generate an alternative reality for these folks to live in, quite comfortably free of the annoying need to think. They like living in a world where Obama is a Muslim, Beck is rational, and Palin is electable - and they DON'T like having the real world shoved in their faces.
