APPLE is the past. Report out that SAMSUNG will get to 1 billion users before APPLE. SAMSUNG increased market share from just 8% to 31.3% in 1 year while APPLE went from 18% to 14.6%.... SAMSUNG is eating APPLE alive.
Once again, I state that market share is completely overrated. Apple could give away phone for free and increase market share.
Would you rather have 17% of market share and 70% of the total smartphone profits or 31% market share and 29% of the total smartphone profits?
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I had a good and in-depth look at the Samsung GS3 yesterday (owned by my friend who by the way is unimpressed and dumping it shortly) and compared it closely to my iPhone 5 in operation. I had no doubt at the end of the process that the GS3 was a substandard and over-hyped product, glitzy looking at first impression but way behind the iPhone 5 in terms of speed, precision, smoothness, simplicity, sharpness, color, etc., etc. If the evidence of the enormous iPhone 5 demand in the December quarter (in the west, in China, and note this: even in Samsung’s Korea) is anything to go by, then frankly the consumer around the globe in my opinion still perceives the iPhone as a more coveted product than Samsung's GS3 and other Androids. Actually in China the GS3 is seen as an insult if given as a gift. They all want the iPhone.
We were given Galaxy S 3, through work and I despise it with a passion, we have 2 Iphones, one Nokia and one galaxy in our family, when I came home with the New Samsung no one even got off the couch to take look at it,
conversley when I bought the Iphone for my daughter the house was filled with screams and recieved numerous hugs, my Son is always sneaking away his moms phone to do face time and what not although he has a phone of his one. The battery on Samsung is horrid, even if you don't use the phone it drains in less than a day and that is the complaint from all the coworkers, Need two hands to dial the numbers. A lot of people like me got sucked in the hype and their wont be a lot of repeat business.
Are you being funny or just completely uneducated? Do you understand that product margin plays a big role? Do you understand that Samsung has many many more products (i.e. phones) out than apple. Do you understand Samsung targets a different demographic. Damn guy, go do some research before you post ridiculous comments.
Margin is exactly what Apple is about to lose, as they begin fighting for business in emerging markets. Couple that with forced increases in R&D, and you have reduced profits. Get ready for the new "value" iPhones.
