Lets suppose you don't hold the leaking bag, you have NOTHING invested. Would you buy aapl at this point knowing the best innovation, after Jobs death, is a radio? I mean, seriously.....a radio, nothing more.
Thanks for your time
The high end phone was the cash/profit cow. Aapl was an early mover, right time, place and product. Some of those advantages have faded. Margins have already contracted 20+%, margins are the easiest way to profits. Can aapl expand volume in all products to offset shrinking margins and increasing competition? The market says no, low P/E. iwatch and radio are lame. Steve Jobs was heart and soul of Apple, . No way would I invest in Apple long term 10+ years without Steve Jobs, watch the lost interview on Netflix.
Apple is for traders only, be careful.
Being honest I just bought @ $425 and will add at -$25 increments if the herd keeps selling it. Just like the herd was paying way too much at $700 they have now overshot..but I'm a disciplined buyer and this may or may not be the bottom. I can't ignore the valuation story from here on down. If aapl can give the herd a juicy tidbit they'll run back to it just like they ran from it....that's what the herd does.
You're assuming that this is all that's in the works in the Apple think-tank. Not to mention in the R&D / protoype pipeline. The last several months are a trading reality of the markets, NOT the company. Keep that in mind .... IF you're a serious investor. If not, then feel free to continue being blown by the media winds.
They'll come up with something. What and when-- who knows. Probably something this year is REALLY needed. They have a track record of some paradigm shifting products even going back 20 years (IIRC). Remember the Newton? WAY before its time and frankly the precursor to the smart phone.
So let's see. iPod (several generations), iPad (several generations), iPhones (multiple generations). See a trend here? Even the macs have a pretty big following even though they're not revolutionary. Then of course is the ecosystem.
Jobs wasn't the ONLY guy doing innovation. There HAS to be a #$%$ load of people coming up with ideas and prototypes.
No because stock is in downtrend. Wouldn't buy until downtrend is broken and uptrend is confirmed. Only caveat is by not being in the stock you run the risk of missing a pop if some good news is announced. I see more reward playing downside though.
