Last Weeks Barrons Go Long Apple 6.6 P/E 8% Yield This Week Sell iPut Collect Premium
last weekend barrons said go long apple common @ $420 for 6.6 p/e and 8% real yield. today they suggest sell covered iPuts @ $420 to "Lock In" gains. no wonder 1% who subscribe have all the money. anywho, brilliant idea, make it so.
That means you are going long twice, nothing naked here, get premium from puts that are sold, selling a put is a long position. INTC did this with their buybacks years ago and probably still do, along with other fortune 500 companies.
could you please elaborate? I think "sell puts" is long .
For me, "sell puts" is like "buy calls", which shows one is confident/positive for the stock.
On the contrary, "buy puts" is like "sell calls", which is negative for the stock.
here's the "jist" (whatever you do don't look up the word "jist" in the urban dictionary or marissa and her "not see" bots will say nyet! forever) buy the common and sell iPuts like apple is doing with her $58 billion buyback.
again the iPuts will expire worthless with $58B on the open market at top of the bid. again i posted barrons iPut strategy today you should read it.
