seeing all stocks in my portfolio are up except AAPL. I pounded my Macbook Pro. Now the screen's got some dead pixels, and there's a dent on the back. lol
This is so agonizing. I don't know why I let AAPL be overweight and also bought Jan 2014 calls. I'm infuriated!
If you're not selling today why worry about the daily swings in the market. I've been using this options game to trade the spread in Apple. At best this is a trading stock. Long term, look for a break out if they ever get a deal with CHL. Back to lurk..................
Smartphone makers will face the same issues as PC makers. The market is saturated and competition is severe. Just look at Nokia, Blackberry and others and you will see where Apple might be going. Note that AAPL has cash per share of $100 so don't expect it to trade in the teens, but it can easily approach $200 over time. Remember DELL, Gateway, HP, etc., they are nowhere near their highs and DELL is trying to go private near its lows. Gateway was sold for one dollar a share in spite that it did not have debt and a$1 billion in cash.
I have Oct calls and April calls. I am not making a ton but they are above 50% return. I want to sell on days like this but the market is also bleak and some people taking profits from Apple during this shutdown. You also have lack of volume which lets the option guys push it down on Fridays.
Long term, we are above the 200 day, new products selling well, new IOs with I radio, new ipads about to be released, and financials above guidance.
buy another unit, help sales?...
we told everyone on this board over a year ago to underweight AAPL and at least cut back 50% of the holding rats a starter cuz we were shorting 700-705 first time good start entry-short... but we never say hold short until 700 came to be... we know AAPL products
