The WSJ sure got a lot of heat this past week, but they got it right. They said the Apple-China Mobile deal would be announced "around December 19th." Considering this deal took 6 years to come to fruition , I'd say the WSJ nailed it. Kudos.
It was just so bizarre, and even somewhat disturbing, to see so many around here call for the Journal's head, when they simply GOT IT RIGHT. Nice job, WSJ, and a VERY nice job by Tim Cook and the rest of his team at Apple. Merry Christmas.
WSJ got it right. Perhaps Apple and or China Mobile changed the date at the last minute. They reported what they heard. Only a blind man walking around without a cane would not see this. Always those who will blame others instead of taking responsibility for there own reactions and biases.
WTH? You work at the WSJ?. They said around Dec 18th, not 19th, and the problem is they should NOT have given ANY specific day if they had no confirmation. Maybe should have said "late Dec". They should have known effect on opts which expired Fri Dec 20. You are apparently as clueless as they are. Irresponsible financing reporting IMHO.
