Ltd. partnerships are a pain in the tax return. Reits are pretty easy to account for. BDC's have the same tax issues as reits. I own the BDC's ACAS, AINV and MCGC, oil trusts CNE and COSWF, reits AHT, HCN, HRP, MDH, banks BAC, TD, USB. Most were bought at lower prices.
I think the BDC's will be better able to handle either higher interest rates or slower economic growth than reits.
