Flight 1549 had a compressor stall three days before...

and it shook the hell out of the passengers. The CNN story has the pilot restarting the engine after multiple hits (?) to the right engine facing forward, and continuing on to destination.

Same plane, as reported so far, same flight number. The story is getting eerier and eerier.

I can't help but think of this second season Twilight Zone Episodes epilogue for some reason--maybe it's the bizarre reaching out for its mate...modified just a hair...

Rod Serling's speech goes something like this:
"A...Jet airliner, on the way back...is now reported overdue and missing, and by now searched for on land sea and air by anguished human beings, fearful of what they'll find.

But you and i know where she is--you and I know what's happened...

So if some moment, any moment, you hear the sound of jet engines flying on top of the overcast, engines that sound searching and lost, engines that sound desperate, shoot up a flare, or do something. That would be Flight 1549 trying to get home...(their engines gone, and running out of time)...on their way back--from the Twilight Zone."
